Alumni Success in High School
How are New School alumni doing in High School?
In a recent alumni survey, we reached out to 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade alumni—and their parents—to hear about their high school experiences. The results were overwhelmingly positive, showing that New Schoolers are thriving! Below, we’ve highlighted some key findings along with quotes from the students themselves.
Academic Success
New School alumni are taking a variety of courses but the vast majority — 100% of the alumni surveyed — are enrolled in Honors English Language Arts courses. Alumni are also taking a range of math courses, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Advanced Algebra & Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus.
Social and Emotional Success
At New School, our mission is to prepare the whole child for success in high school and beyond. Our graduates and their families report feeling well-prepared, both academically and socially. They are actively engaged in clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities that enrich their high school experience. As one student shared, "I know it sounds crazy, but the workload at New School was super helpful and really prepared me for high school!"

I am confident in my ability to handle extracurricular activities and still be able to do homework and meet up with friends.”
“I feel very good about how well New School prepared me! I am confident taking more advanced classes and I have a good experience handling the workload. high school is super fun and all new school kids should feel confident going into freshman year!”
